Rods For Sale

We are moving to Michigan next spring so the shop will be relocated.  We
have purchased a cabin and property North East of Grayling by lovells
Michigan.  Like many guys who fly fish and make rods I have a room full of
rods and stuff.  I really don't want to move all this so I am posting a bunch of
rods for sale.  Some are new rods, some are rods I made while learning, some
are vintage rebuilds, and there are some graphite rods.  They are priced very
competitively so they can be moved, and fairly described.   I will be adding
some other rods and reels so check back every now and then.   Add $20.00
shipping and handling to all rods prices.  When I receive payment I will ship
the rod USPS insured.
Gone  This is a new rod.  The taper is RKP #3.  I got the
specs from a public domain taper library and tweaked it in a
couple of places. The # 3 is a fairly fast rod and can move a lot
of line.  The rod I fish with most is a # 3.  It is a  7 foot, 5 wgt rod
being sold as a single tip.  The tip wrapped in red was
damaged while I was cleaning up the blanks and repaired.  It
wasn't damaged too badly but I won't sell it as a first, so I
finished it and am throwing it in as a backup tip.  Wrapped it in
red so there is no mistake which tip is which.  A new single tip
rod is ordinarily $700.00.  This one comes with sock, tube and
ferrule plug and is $550.00 + S&H

This is a Dickerson 8014 taper single tip 8 foot 6 wgt.  I don't
usually make 6 wgt rods or Dickerson tapers, but I put this one
together just because.  Planing was a little off and I got a glue
line in the butt section.  I have brought this to some club outings
and the guys who cast it liked it.  The glue line shown below has
kept it in a tube in corner of the basement.  It is a sound rod and
casts well, but I won't sell it as a first.  It comes with sock and
tube for $300.00 + S&H.

This is a Gatti 8' 6" (FR865TA) graphite blank I built a few years
ago.  It is a fast five weight and fun to cast.  Gatti is an Italian
Company and they make good rods.   When I was getting this
one ready to wrap  there was virtually no spline.   Comes with
Gatti sock and tube.  $225.00 +S&H
Heddon Black beauty #17, 9 foot, HCH or D.  I got this from a guy
who got it from his uncle, and have not done anything to or with
it except a little lawn casting.  I have a couple of these and It
cast like you would expect a #17 to.  It comes with the original
sock and tube.  You can see the second tip is short. The mid
section is about 1/2 inch short as well.  Not sure what happened
because it doesn't look like it has been repaired.  Sound rod
that casts like it is suppose to.  $275.00 + S&H

SOLD Another Graphite rod.  This one is a Hexagraphite
Classic 4/5 Wgt, 8 foot, serial #621136.  If you are familiar with
the Hexagraph - it is graphite laid out to look like a Bamboo
rod.  This one is fast and it is a cannon.  You can get out a lot
of line with accuracy.  A good rod for fishing the far bank.  This
rod probably hasn't been fished a dozen times.   I got is from
some guys who run a school and a sell fly fishing tackle.  They
got it as a demo and fished it a couple of times.  I have had it
several years and since I fish Bamboo these days have only
had it out 5 or 6 times.  Comes with the original sack and tube.
$375.00 + S&H.
