Review of Jonathan Busses Silk Fly Lines
Jonathan demonstrated his silk fly lines at the 2007 Gray Rock
Gathering and I got one to try out.
Jonathan makes these lines at his home in Knoxville, Tenn. Judging
by the line I have he has broken the code and can deliver a very nice
silk line. I have fished mine several times on the clear Fork in Ohio
and on the Au Sable in Michigan. If you treat it the way you should
it floats well and casts nicely. Runs through the guides straight
and easy, and rolls out just like it is suppose to. Performs very
well. Can't ask for more than that.
I have let several other folks use the line and all comments are
positive so far.
Fishing smaller streams in Michigan for Brook trout, I like to load
up the rod quickly for short accurate casts. After talking with
Jonathan he was able to tweak the line he made for me and it casts
like I hoped it would. Talk to him about how you fish and how you
would like your line to perform. He may be able to do some magic
that will make you very happy.
If you are into Bamboo rods and silk fly lines Jonathan makes a line
well worth considering.
